SE9 5AQ
Tel: 07729 364506

The Tarn is an accessible tranquil wild life haven, just opposite Mottingham Railway Station and near a bus stop serving routes 124, 161 and 126. The lake supports a variety of water fowl including heron, geese, moorhen and coots. Of historical interest there is an ice well and from the bridge there are views across to Royal Blackheath Golf Course. The planting is natural with many trees and shrubs. It is at its most beautiful in the spring with colourful rhododendron displays following on from spring bulbs. The Friends hold events such as Teas in the Tarn during the summer. Volunteers work in the park on Thursdays between 11am and 3pm. You will be made very welcome if you wish to join us. Please note that no dogs are allowed in the park and no cycling. The Green Chain Walk loops round the park perimeter. There is no public access to the area described on maps as a bird sanctuary, but there are many species of birds to be seen in the park itself. Enjoy the views from our benches and picnic tables.
