Mottingham Marvels - 10:15 am-12:30 pm

St Edwards, 35, St Keverne Road , Mottingham, SE9 4AX

Take a walk to explore nearby Marvels Wood and find out about the many local varieties of plants, trees and mushrooms – some are edible, and some can be used as medicine! Some are poisonous - very useful to know if you have children or pets.

This walk is part of a project funded by Mottingham Big Local Refocused and it will be our first foraging walk, led by our local expert Rosanna Ottewell - taking place on Saturday 3rd November.

If you would like to take part, arrive at St Edwards church on St Keverne Road at 10.15 for a 10.30 start - but you must book or sign up in advance as numbers are limited.

The 2-hour walk will be an easy stroll, suitable for all ages and abilities (including children aged 5 years old and upwards). Children under 15 must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

Half way through the walk we will take a break with snacks and home made cordial. Afterwards we will spend a little time talking about what we have found and you will receive a free information booklet about some of the plants, trees and mushrooms you're likely to see in Marvels Woods in the autumn.

Although the places on the walk are FREE, booking is ESSENTIAL. Our numbers are limited so we advise that you book early to avoid disappointment. Priority will be given to Mottingham residents, so make sure you mention this when you book

Dress for the weather, as the walk takes place rain or shine - so remember your umbrella if it looks like rain!
